Welcome!

Welcome! Please seat yourself. Feel free to relax and take in the ambiance of this historical place. It was created with just one thing in mind, to have a good time. Hope you will do just that!

The History of The Abandoned Luncheonette.

Feel free to start off your day here at the Luncheonette with a nice hot bowl of our own homemade Whole Oats while you wash it down with a nice cold glass of H2O. Or you may want to even spend your lunch and or dinner here at the Luncheonette. I recommend our specialty, the Our Kind of Soul platter. It is perfectly made with a small helping of 70's dance, a generous serving of 80's rock and roll and a dash of 90's new groove. All on a beautiful cut of blue eyed Philly Soul. Sit at one of the two corner booths here at the Luncheonette while you frequently look out the window at our beautiful Marigold Sky. You probably Can't Stop Dreaming while relaxing in our very comfortable booths as so many people have over the years. We have even been told that our Luncheonette has the right Phunk Shui. Don't forget to check out our jukebox over there but don't go over there Soul Alone, you may have some Private Eyes watching you as you hear Voices singing Sacred Songs. You may even feel as if you had a 1000 Miles of Life after visiting the jukebox! Along The Red Ledge of the counter there at the end where those two stools are you will probably be X-Static to know that that is where Daryl Hall and John Oates sat when they first opened this establishment back in 1973. That same area of the Luncheonette was featured in their Possession Obsession video from 1984. So... as you can see the Luncheonette is not far from the owners minds at any given time. It obviously has a sort of magnetism for them and many of our customers. We always invite you to enjoy our Big Bam Boom Fourth of July celebration where we have heard many Ooh Yeah's. Stop by during the Change Of Season's during the year or even feel free to visit us for our Home For Christmas festival. When all of our family gets together at the Luncheonette for great Christmas music by who else then Daryl Hall & John Oates (Of Course!). If you choose to leave the Luncheonette, please make sure you exit by the front entrance as you came in. We here at the Luncheonette take no responsibility if you do choose to leave out the back door and encounter the Beauty On A Back Street. When you do leave, remember these three things about the Luncheonette: Alway's, alway's, Do It For Love! It is never Bigger Than Both Of Us and when you leave there are No Goodbyes here at the Luncheonette.

Keep on Truckin' ....?

The Luncheonette is looking real empty nowadays due to the economy. But we have a LOT of free stuff to help you all out for that. Just try out the music and video jukebox on the side. They are all free. Promise! Let me know if you want new stuff in there. I'll be glad to add it! As long it is family friendly. We run a very family friendly establishment here at the Luncheonette! Now onto the reason for my visit.
How about yours truly as a truck driver? Yep, you guessed it. I am going to see if I can train to be an over-the-road truck driver with haz-mat endorsement! The original idea was for both the wife and I to do it as a team. But she had an incident in Dec. 2008 that no trucking company will touch. So it looks like it will be me for about three years so her record can clean itself up by then! I would like to pose a question to all of you. What should be my handle when I DO get out there? I have a few idea's, such as: Darkwing (This all depends on if I have a black truck!) the reason for this name is first of all my father used to escort wide load trucks and he drove a red pick-up and the drivers all called him Redwing. So because of that I would be Darkwing for my black HHR I drive now and hopefully a black truck. Another reason would be that I like ice hockey and the Anaheim Ducks and if you noticed a few years back their was a cartoon called Darkwing Duck from Disney who owned the Ducks in the beginning. The second name would be: Flash Gordon which happens to be my favorite movie of all time as well as I really enjoyed the Sci-Fi series when it was on! And it also happens to be the name I use whenever I play any video games. So it is my Video Game handle as well. A third one I just thought about would be; The Putman being the ONE and only big stage production character I played for SSCC theatre. It is a play on the actual characters name Thomas Putnam. The reason it is The Putman and not The Putnam is when we received the shirts with the cast listing on the back it stated Thomas Putman and not Putnam. That's just three I can think of. So maybe some of my readers can come up with any others? Most of them know me, so I am open to any suggestions!

The Inaugural Season of the CHL!

Hello all. I am here today at the Luncheonette, enjoying my nice ice cold sweet tea (the best on the net mind you!), to inform you of my fantasy hockey leagues I participated in this year. The season is over and the results are in. I participated in three leagues this year, two that I created and was the commissioner of, and one that I just managed a team in the league.

First of all, I would like to state I enjoyed managing all three teams I had. The competition was fierce and sometimes close, but overall it was a great year for me. I look forward to doing it again in October!

Now for the results:

In the second league I created which I named The Dominator after an exceptional goalie that used to play for the Detroit Red Wings, Dominik Hasik (Also known as The Dominator for the way he dominated the net and allowed very few goals.) I ended up a dissapointing 6th place. Maybe next year for Lous Red Wings in The Dominator league.

The one and only league I was just a manager in was called Lets Go Rangers, where my team placed a VERY respectable 3rd place. I did well here! And now for the first league I created and the final results of its team. The CHL (Cincinnati Hockey League) and my Cincy Mighty Ducks. It is official the Cincy Mighty Ducks are the CHL's first league CHAMPS! I did it! We ran the season in this league from the first game to the last, just like my 1990 Cincinnati Redlegs. We never relinguished first place and ended up winning it all! Hail to the champions! The Cincy Mighty Ducks!

New Year, Same ....

I have come back to the Luncheonette once again in the new year to see how she's been. She has fared well the last year, better than me I'd say! I wish I could say the same about me and the wife! I notice we had a few new guests, which is always appreciated. Thanks to Aly and Larry for stopping by. Hopefully the Luncheonette can keep you coming back!
First the good news, or at least for me anyway's. I have been speaking with two friends of Lori and mine about creating websites for them. They are both at opposite ends of the Web Site spectrum. The first one I am working on is for a classmate of mine from Tech. Even tho' we never spoke to each other the whole four years we were both there, we were re-introduced to each other via a mutal friend/classmate. That friend was my shop-classmate Edward T. Connors(a.k.a. Eddie Walker) A name I just gave him recently. We met again after 19 years when I briefly had the corrosion job I posted about earlier. Whilst on this job I traveled and at one point during it I was close enough to visit Eddie who was still living in the Danbury (CT) area. After Our visit Eddie told me about Sue, a printing shop student. Sue asked me about creating a site for Reiki item's. I told her I would be more than happy to help her with it. It is still in the planning stages, hopefully soon it will become a reality.
The other site is for a long time friend of Lori's who is Stephanie, and me. We have decided to create a web site wholly dedicated to 70's and 80's music. It will have everything from a "Name That Tune" style page where you can name that tune, puzzles, blogs, forums, timelines, and many other things. Hopefully that one will be up soon as well.
The bad news is, if you haven't already heard. I am jobless once again. Lori is still looking and I am back in the unemployment line! Ugh! That is about it from here for now. I keep checking in on the Luncheonette to she how she is doing, and to see if any new customers have visited and left their mark. Thanks to the ones that have been stopping by, I appreciate your intrest in my blog!
